Annual Sports Meet 2019
Today, a school without games and sports is unimaginable as they have become an integral element of present – day education. The much awaited Annual Sports Day of RRIS was held today the 3rd February with great zeal , excitement and frolicsome atmosphere. The school field and track was ready for the various events and the gallery was well arranged with chairs and water-points at different places.
The day became an unforgettable one with the august presence of our chairman Mr. R.Rajangam, Chief Guest Mr. V. Baskaran, Guest of Honour Dr. A. Vigneshwari and other dignatories.
The programme started with Tamil thai vaazhthu followed by prayer and school song by the school choir.
Mrs. Pauline Reeta, the co ordinator welcomed the esteemed gathering followed by the hoisting of National Flag by our chairman, Olympic Flag by the Chief Guest and School Flag by our Principal Mrs.Revathi Sundaram.
The Chief Guest flagged off the March Past, lit the Olympic torch and handed it over to our School Sports Captain Miss. Sabreen Thoumi. The students entered into the spirit of the occasion in a grand way with the oath being administered by the Sports Captain Miss. Sabreen Thoumi.
Principal Mrs.Revathi Sundaram addressed and Mr. Nambi Sundarajan presented the Sports Annual Report. The welcome dance by classical students was a feast for our eyes.
Our chairman honoured the Chief Guest and spoke to the audience.
Mr. V. Baskaran, the Chief Guest gave his valuable suggestion. Sports song by the school choir kindled our sporting spirit. He also honoured the winners of the March Past and declared the 3rd Annual Sports Meet open.
Track events like running race, obstacle race, cycle race, hurdles and relay took place.
Yoga, Judo, Western Dance, Silambam, Kungfu, Cricket, Gymnastic, Archery, Boxing, Karate and pyramid were displayed on the field by the students across all grades. These events were succeeded by prize distribution and parents events.
The Sports Captain lowered the Flag which signalled the end of the programmes and was handed over to the Principal.
Mrs. Sangeetha, the primary co ordinator, proposed vote of thanks and then the most enthralling performance came at the end. Yes, The Skating performance by our energetic young skaters.
The programme came to a close with National Anthem.
